I'm not sure about the exact site, but try alloflyrics.com - it's a nice one)))
If I'm not mistaking we live it the same district)))
Well, welcome to this topic!))))
Would you, please, share the method you use to teach your daughter English?))) I'm an ex-teacher also))) but my break in this career lasts for 8 years)) So - I'm not that "tough" anymore)))) But I'm really interested in teaching my boys English.
|
Thank you, I'll try. My break lasts the fourth year. But before giving birth to my son I gave private lessons to my previous pupils, it was very helpful to my skills moreover they live in my house))) but now it's problematically because almoust all my free time I spend with my kids. Unfortunately they are often ill that is very tiresome for me. Probably I'll take some private students the next school year.
Talking about my daughter I don't have any special method in teaching my daughter I just speak to her time to time regularly. I started speaking to her when she was 9 months and now she understands my speaking and can answer or do what I ask but not always. I'm sure that it shouldn't be a lessonof English in her age. And I don't insist on her speaking English with me if she doesn't want.

ILEC courses last for 5-6 months and cost around $1200
I bit too much for me)))))
I think I'll start with Discussion Club at Saint Petersburg American Center this Sturday at 12 and after that we may stay and watch a movie with a discussion afterwards. Moreover, it's all free ))))
Taсияра - you are welcome ))) it would be really nice to go there together))
P.S. I think you are right about time specifying with past continius. I meant some time before now - but it was not obvious. Thanks for drawing my attention to it!
|
Hello all)))
Gasperina, could you give me some more info about this Discussion Club? Where can I find info, and how to attend?
I try to learn English for long time - and the main problem is lack of speaking....Difficult to speak free, always afraid to forget words and etc
So discussion club could be great!!!

And for all who want to speak better my tips:
- try to communicate more, even if you do mistakes
- watch movies in English(only those that you really like) - as for me better movie - that I`ve already seen in Russian and know the plot...
(even if you understand nothing at first - words and sentences stay in your brain) ))))
- try to read books (only those you like!!!) or news that you are interested in - thats really help
I checked this by myself and after sometime - I feel the result
And the last that helped me - lessons with native speaker teacher by Skype - not much gramma, a lot of speaking and fun. By this I break my barrier in speaking almost 100% )))))
Good luck!

Hi!)))))
Very good tips - I agree with every word)))
By the way - I'm geting interested in skype lessons - but what I know a bit expensive for me. If it's not a secret, how much does your lesson with a native speaker cost? May be I could try it also - it's would be awesome!))))
As for a discussion club - it's on Saturdays at Mayakovskaya library. If you want - let's go there together. I plan to go there this saturday. We could meet at Vladimirskaya at 11:40. What would you say?

Yes I am breastfeeding my son and I plan to do it until he is one year old so in summer I'll be more free.
But you are right the older our children are the more they understand and we cannot deny it. Fortunately I like spending time with my children, invent some new games and activities (not in vain I'm a teacher I like this teaching even my own children, but I suppose it's harder))
Thank you for the site of songs but I can't find the link of downlowding the songs mp3 for free just as I use the link from this first page and listen to the books when I have some free time - That's really great. Could you please help me to find this link
